As promised, our Nurburgring photographer has a new video with footage of the 2024 Corvette E-Rays at the Nurburgring. There are three different prototypes at the track, and the video captures the short drive from the dedicated GM garage to the track entrance, where they are seen entering the arena and then hammering down.

I keep seeing comments here and on the forums that some enthusiasts continue to believe still that the E-Ray is fully electric when the first sounds of the car hitting the track will tell your ears that’s the sound of the 495-hp LT2 V8 engine.

We’ve been so concentrated on the Z06 lately that I nearly forgot just how good the LT2 sounds when on the track. It will also be interesting to see the track comparisons between the widebody E-Ray with the larger tires vs the Z51 Stingray. I think it’s safe to assume that, like the C7 Grand Sports, certain components of the Z06 brakes and suspension will find their way into the car. We’ve already seen that with the drilled brake rotors and the Z06’s accessory visible carbon fiber rear spoiler on the E-Rays at the ‘Ring.

When we received the spy photos yesterday, the photoset only had the No.7 and 4 Corvettes, while this video captures the third E-Ray wearing the number 5. Unlike the other two cars, the rear spoiler isn’t wrapped, and it’s either carbon flash or visible carbon fiber.

The engineers were happily pushing the limits of the E-Rays, and the question about performance vectoring has been raised previously, meaning that the AWD motors are providing additional torque to one of the wheels to assist in the corners, and perhaps the engineers are also testing the limits of the one-pedal driving with the Regen on Demand system. So much is still a mystery about this car, and learning about is half the fun!

Thanks again to Stefan Baldauf at CarSpyMedia for the great video!!
