Elk Grove police will spend tribute to fallen motor officer Tyler Lenehan May perhaps 1 with a horseback and wagon procession.

Lenehan, 44, died Jan. 21, following a visitors collision in which he was struck by a erroneous-way driver on Freeway 99 in close proximity to 47th Avenue in Sacramento. The 6-calendar year office veteran was the 1st in the department’s background to die in the line of obligation.

Police will quickly handle website traffic along the Cowboy Honor Journey route from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with rolling street closures in effect. A selection of streets will be afflicted.

The route will proceed from Elk Grove Regional Park north on East Stockton Boulevard to eastbound Valley Oak Lane, then north on Emerald Oak Lane.

The procession turns east on to Elk Grove Boulevard and proceeds south on Elk Grove Florin Road to return to Elk Grove Regional Park.

Elk Grove Law enforcement Office is inviting inhabitants to line the route.
