Motorcycle clocked at 144 mph in a 65 mph zone on Tuesday in Rochester – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER — A 22-yr-aged Pine Island person was arrested soon after being clocked going 144 mph in a 65 mph zone on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Lt. Lee Rossman.

In accordance to Rossman, a deputy clocked the Pine Island gentleman rushing although heading northbound on U.S. Freeway 63 in close proximity to 80th Avenue Southeast at about 3:10 p.m.

The deputy followed the motorcyclist but did not try to pull him about owing to the high level of pace the person was traveling.

Immediately after the motorcyclist stopped at a pink mild at the intersection of South Broadway and 3rd Avenue, the deputy pulled his vehicle upcoming to the Pine Island man’s bike and explained to him to switch off the motorbike.

Rossman said that soon after the officer exited his car or truck and approached the motorcycle, the person continued to rev his motor producing the motorcycle to lurch ahead, pushing the deputy into his squad car’s door. The driver then dropped his balance and laid the bike down.

Rossman reported the Pine Island person did not follow the deputy’s commands to get on the floor until the deputy drew his Taser.

Whilst the deputy was making an attempt to handcuff the male on the floor, a passerby stopped to assistance the deputy, according to Rossman.

The driver told regulation enforcement that it was sizzling out and that is why he was likely too speedy. The driver also advised regulation enforcement that he had headphones in and could not hear the instructions from the deputy.

The Pine Island person was taken to the Olmsted County Grownup Detention Heart on expenses linked to obstruction and speeding.

The deputy suffered bruises and scraps but has since returned to obligation, according to Rossman.
