Adult and youth riders take part in Crabtree Farm Trial

Richmond Motor Club ran an easy trial at Crabtree Farm, Gilling West, on Sunday.

A total of 22 adults and 23 youth riders of mixed abilities, from complete beginners to aged experts, set-off to ride four laps of ten sections with a mix of becks, woodland and rocky areas set out by clerk of course Andrew Swainston.

Twenty adults and 13 youths took on the main course, with Richard Pulman (Scorpa) riding round on clean, clinching the win from Fraser Proudlock (GasGas) by one mark.

Paul Sadler (Vertigo) came third, again losing one mark but missing out on second place by furthest cleans.

A big well done to Josh Dent who usually rides C Class but stepped up to ride the main course with the adults and A & B youth classes.

On the main course with yellow deviations, two adults and five youths enjoyed a ride round.

Andy Pulman (Beta) came out on top with ten marks dropped, followed by C Class rider Bailey Huntbach (Beta) who dropped 17 marks. Matthew Hall (Beta) was third, losing 21 marks.

Five conducted course riders had three laps of eight sections to tackle, with Harry Mason (Oset) taking the lead, losing a total of 40 marks.

Isaac Tiplady (Oset) came second, with brother Francis Tiplady (Oset) coming third on his first trial.

It was nice to see whole families taking part on the day, from riders to observers and organisers.
